What do I need to get started?

To start, you will need:
  • TGH Virtual Health account
  • Smartphone, tablet device or a laptop with a web camera and microphone
  • TGH Virtual Health Kit which can be purchased at TGH.Tytocare.com
  • 2.4 Ghz Wi-Fi or hotspot connection with access to the internet
How do I know if my WiFi is 2.4 GHz?

Internet providers give you a router with both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz capabilities. Call your internet provider to find out more.
Most routers operate at 2.4 WiFi. Please make sure it is not disabled or a hidden network. A 2.4 GHz network may have "2.4G" or "2.4" at the end of the network name. For example: "Myhomenetwork2.4".
5 GHz WiFi is not compatible with the TGH Virtual Health Kit. A 5 GHz network may have "5G" or "5" at the end of the network name For example: "Myhomenetwork5".
How do I set up a TGH Virtual Health account?

If using your computer, visit https://www.tghvirtualhealth.org/ If using your smartphone, download our app on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store
What type of smartphones and tablets work with the TGH Virtual Health app?

The TGH Virtual Health App works with iOS (operating systems 9 and above) and Android OS (4.1 and above). Here are the specific requirements:
  • iPhone: iOS 9.0 or later
  • iPad: iPadOS 9.0 or later
  • iPod touch: iOS 9.0 or later
  • Mac: macOS 11 or later and a Mac with Apple M1 chip
  • Android: 4.1 and above
How is this different from a typical virtual visit through TGH Virtual Health?

You can access the same providers, but the exam kit allows you to enhance your visit and allows our providers to complete exams they otherwise couldn’t (like listening to your heart, lungs or examining your inner ears).
When can I use my TGH Virtual Health Kit?

You can use your device from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m., seven days a week with our on-demand urgent care app, TGH Virtual Health. Without the TGH Virtual Health Kit, you can still use our TGH Virtual Health app 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Can I use the TGH Virtual Health Kit with my whole family?

There is no limitation on family members that can use the TGH Virtual Health Kit and its examination tools. All family members who use the TGH Virtual Health Kit must have an account set up through TGH Virtual Health. The TGH Virtual Health Kit can be used on individuals ages 3 months and older.
Who will conduct the exam?

TGH Virtual Health Kit exams are performed with our TGH Urgent Care powered by Fast Track providers.
What happens if I need to be seen in-person?

Our providers will instruct you to the right place of care based on your symptoms at the time of your visit. If it is an emergency, please go to the nearest emergency room. In a non-emergency situation, your provider may recommend you be seen in person at an urgent care facility. If you live by one of our convenient urgent care locations, you can make an appt here: https://www.fasttrackurgentcare.com/fastpass and we will refund your telehealth visit after your in-person visit at one of our convenient urgent care centers.
What is the price of a virtual visit using my TGH Virtual Health Kit?

The price is the same amount as our standard on-demand virtual visits: $49.
Does insurance cover the cost of a video visit?

Insurance coverage for virtual care visits varies based on your plan and benefit structure. During the current state of emergency, coverage is being extended. However, please contact your insurer for the most up-to-date information.
Are TGH Virtual Health Kits covered by insurance?

You can use your FSA (Flexible Spending Account) or HSA (health reimbursement account) to pay for the TGH Virtual Health Kit device. Our payment processor accepts HSA, HRS, and FSA debit cards.

What exams can be performed using the TGH Virtual Health Kit?

The TGH Virtual Health Kit can provide your provider with high-quality digital sounds of the heart and lungs and high-quality digital images and video of the ears, throat and skin. The TGH Virtual Health Kit also measures heart rate and body temperature. Using this examination data, your provider can diagnose you, recommend a treatment plan and prescribe medications to your preferred pharmacy, if needed.
The TGH Virtual Health Kit can help a healthcare provider diagnose and treat many common conditions, including:
  • Ear infections
  • Sore throats
  • Fever
  • Cold and flu
  • Allergies
  • Pink eye
  • Nausea
  • Constipation
  • Asthma
  • Bronchitis
  • Sinus and upper respiratory infections

Is the TGH Virtual Health Kit equivalent to the tools used in-office?

Yes, the TGH Virtual Health Kit is designed to replicate the exams performed during an in-office exam. The TGH Virtual Health Kit sends your provider high-quality digital sounds of the heart and lungs, and high-quality digital images and video of the ears, throat and skin, and body temperature.
Do I need any training to use my TGH Virtual Health Kit?

TGH Virtual Health Kit has built-in guidance technology to help ensure accuracy and ease-of-use. When using your TGH Virtual Health Kit during a live telehealth exam, your clinician will guide you through the examination process, letting you know where to put the stethoscope on your heart, where to place the otoscope inside the ear, etc. You can access the Patient Guide HERE for instructions on how to register, pair, and use your device during a visit.
